THE ANTI BLUEPRINT PROJECT
My contribution to helping teenagers
In the midst of the 2020 lockdown with the desire to do something to help others, I set about writing my first book to help inspire teenagers to find their way in a very uncertain future. When we’re younger it seems like everyone always wants to know what we’re going to do when we grow up. The reality is most people are still figuring it out. The narrative we are fed at school around the common blueprint that’s laid out for us seems such an outdated model for the society we see ahead of us.
This started as a blog, that then became a LinkedIn discussion, which led me to talk to 50 inspiring people who have cultivated themselves a unique role in the world. I wanted to dig beneath the surface to understand what it takes to “make it.” What I discovered along the way was a set of commonalities, many of which we’re seemingly not taught at school which we can all learn from, myself included. The result is an ongoing project for anyone looking to explore their own efficiency and long term sustainability, or an alternative career path in a constantly evolving world.
Whilst this project started out with me writing in my office day in, day out it quickly turned into a greater understanding of design principles, logistics, production and the intricacies of targeted communications on social platforms. For each step I brought in experts in each field to bring the project to life. From there, planning out a pre launch and launch on kickstarter also brought with it a new set of learnings and skillsets in terms of capturing pre launch hype and converting that to purchase.
The kickstarter funded at 226% and achieved “Project we Love” Status from Kickstarter.
