Who Am I? A little Q & A to give you an insight.

What do you do?

I grow brands and products.

In what capacity?

As a fractional CMO. So if your brand needs guidance on an ongoing basis but not a full time employee, then I am ready to partner to help.

What experience do you have?

Two years as a CMO of DB, building a new business model for a scaling brand.
Consulting with two digital first businesses Tonsser & Beams.

Before that I spent 10 years at Nike leading marketing teams across Football, Women’s, training, skateboarding & snowboarding.

Before that I was at Burton Snowboards for 5 years. I also just self published my first book, The Anti Blueprint Project.

What are you proudest of?

Building great teams. At Db I have the pleasure of running a marketing department with 15 of the most hard working dedicated and talented people you could wish to meet. Within Nike building a team means cross functional excellence in a matrix.
Then when it comes to Product marketing, driving the Nike Sports Bra and Tights business back to 6 seasons of double digit growth was a highlight.

Brand marketing wise it would be being fundamental in creation of the Nike Snowboarding brand.

In terms of events it would be three. The Metcon launch event in London, the luggage launch with Wasted Talent in France and the guerilla marketing we did with Forum Snowboards.

Personally, i suppose the work I am proudest of is the book just wrote as I have started to get feedback in from teenagers around the world, about how much they are taking from the project. I enjoy making a difference to people.

What else should I know?

I’m married to my wife Mareike and we have two children, Lenny & Lilly. We enjoy traveling and recently just moved from Oregon, USA to Portugal.

Where can I find more?

Here is my linkedin and here is my Instagram.

Here is a podcast I did with Looking Sideways which gives you more insight too.

Principles

Team First.

It sounds cliche but its so true. An engaged, motivated team will always come out on top. Look at any of the great sports teams and you’ll see a great leader.

Everything is possible.

It’s likely a fault, but I am someone who no matter how close the deadline, how random the ask is, I generally always am able to see a pathway to success.

Test, Iterate, Learn.

With marketing evolving at such a rapid speed, I pride myself on the ability to try new ways of working to reach out to shifting consumer trends always.
